Money you put into a Health Savings Account is not taxed going in, grows without tax, and comes out tax free for qualified medical costs. Pick your coverage, your tax bracket and how you contribute, and see the 2026 limit and your estimated tax saving.
Estimates only. Figures on this page use published plan-year values and the details you enter. They are not a quote, an offer of coverage, or a determination of eligibility. Your final premium and any tax credit are confirmed at enrollment with the carrier or HealthCare.gov. Everything is calculated in your browser; nothing you type is sent to us or anyone else.
An estimate is a starting point. Viola Lucero, CLTC, and the team at Rise Up Benefits Group in Chandler can look up the real figures for your situation, check your doctors and prescriptions, and explain what the numbers mean for you. We speak insurance, so you don't have to.

In clients' words
Viola is amazing to work with she really helped my aunt get on the correct insurance plan that meet her health needs! It was so easy to communicate with Viola. She makes sure she reviews our plan every year and educates us on any changes. We have peace of mind which is hard to come by with health insurance!

$4,400 for self-only coverage and $8,750 for family coverage (IRS Rev. Proc. 2025-19), plus $1,000 if you are 55 or older.
Someone covered by an HSA-eligible high-deductible health plan with no other disqualifying coverage and not enrolled in Medicare. In 2026 the plan deductible must be at least $1,700 for self-only or $3,400 for family coverage.
Arizona starts from federal adjusted gross income, so HSA contributions that lower your federal income also lower the income Arizona taxes at its flat 2.5% rate for 2026. Confirm your situation with a tax professional.
No. Once any part of Medicare starts you can no longer contribute, but you can keep using the money for qualified medical costs, including Medicare premiums other than Medigap.
It stays in your account. HSA money rolls over every year with no deadline, and the account is yours even if you change jobs, change plans or retire. That is a key difference from a flexible spending account, which usually has to be used within the plan year.
For a plan to be HSA-eligible in 2026, its out-of-pocket maximum can be no more than $8,500 for self-only or $17,000 for family coverage (IRS Rev. Proc. 2025-19). Together with the minimum deductible, that is what makes a plan a high-deductible health plan.
Usually, yes. Contributions taken through your employer’s payroll skip the 7.65% Social Security and Medicare tax as well as income tax. Money you put in yourself is still deductible on your federal return, but that payroll tax is not refunded. The calculator shows both ways.
You can, but it is taxed as income, and before age 65 an extra tax penalty applies too. From 65 on, the penalty goes away, so non-medical withdrawals are simply taxed as income. Qualified medical costs stay tax free at any age. Keep your receipts in case you are ever asked.
Yes. Money your employer puts in counts toward the same $4,400 self-only or $8,750 family limit for 2026. Add both together before you set your own contribution, so you do not go over. Excess contributions can be taxed unless you take them out in time.
